SCIENTIST / SUPPORT LAWYER

Civil Code Civil Code N.V. (‘DCC’) acts as a corporate legal institute. We develop corporate legal know-how and innovative legal solutions by practicing the legal profession. Our partners have capped themselves to a maximum profit-share to be able to reserve funds for the development of legal solutions and products that help us to better serve clients better. We work closely with the largest Dutch academic institutions in order to generate an exchange of academic and practical legal know-how. Our client portfolio consists of mid-size and large (both listed and non-listed) multinational companies, governmental institutions and semi-governmental organisations. We offer a full range of notarial and attorney services but we limit ourselves to advising on specialised corporate legal expertise gained by our lawyers in the past 20 years. The position As a scientist / support lawyer at our firm, you will

  • be responsible for maintaining our know-how system as well as (co) developing additional know-how documentation;
  • follow developments in respect of relevant legislation, changes in legislation and case law in the relevant field; summarize and categorize it;
  • be responsible for the content and the preparation of regular newsletters;
  • review, comment on and assist with external publications of our staff;
  • support our staff, both organisationally and professionally, with research, publications, seminars and lectures and will write your own articles and publications in journals of scientific level;
  • contribute to the development and professionalization of knowledge databases and knowledge infrastructure and provides good access to the recorded files and documentation;
  • assist and support our staff in their daily legal practice.

Your profile

  • An excellent academic track record and a Master’s degree in law;
  • Awareness and understanding of the developments of Dutch company law;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Hands-on mentality;
  • Ability to work in a team and willingness to support the activities of DCC;
  • Working experience as a lawyer or candidate civil-law notary would be considered an asset.

Internship

Regularly we provide student internships for up and coming lawyers. Knowledge in Dutch corporate law is needed. Fluency in English and/or Chinese is a must, native speakers of English or Chinese are explicitly invited to contact us!
